Mission
Our mission here at The Old Poor Farm is to provide much deserved care to those animals and birds who have suffered disfigurement through no fault of their own to live pain free full lives without the worry of future abuse.
Description
The Old Poor Farm operates on four acres in Dodge County, Nebraska on the historical original homestead site of the Dodge County Poor Farm. Once a home for people in need has now become a no-kill refuge for abused, unwanted and handicapped creatures.
General Information
Operated solely by dedicated volunteers, The Old Poor Farm provides long term care for disabled animals and birds. These creatures are handicapped or disfigured through birth defects, nutrition or abuse. These animals live long full lives at the Old Poor Farm with loving care given to accomodate their special needs, good nutrition and positive socialization.
